Case Study : 3
New Connection
Client Overview
Our client was expanding their business operation into a neighbouring building behind their premises, however the building included a domestic flat that needed to remain separate, and they sought the support of SeeMore Energy to get a new connection arranged, which enable the separation of the domestic flat and the commercial building.

The Challenge
As is often the case with New Connections, time was of the essence and the business had plans to open their new building within 4 weeks, however this would only be possible if a new Electricity connection could be arranged and installed.
Goals & Objectives
- Arrange a new Electricity connection which would help separate building with 2 supplies (One for Domestic and One for Commercial use).
- Their timeframe required the work to be completed within 4 weeks so the planned opening could remain on schedule.
- Forecasted usage (Kwh) and expected spend for the new meter was unknown, so the client required usage profiling to enable them to budget accurately.
Our Approach
Via our extensive supplier network, we contacted our preferred New Connection partners to discuss the requirements and express the expectation of achieving the goal within 4 weeks.
After initial consultation, we shortlisted 3 suppliers who confirmed their ability to meet our objective and each provided a 12m supply contract for the customer to consider.
We evaluated the respective offers including the volume tolerances clauses to ensure the client wouldn’t be penalised if usage varied from initial forecasts and put forward our recommendation.
Following a swift decision-making process, the agreement was signed and we began to liaise with the supplier and meter provider to ensure the installation was booked ASAP.

Solution Implementation
Energy Procurement New Connection Application
Procurement for 12m Supply Contract
Installation Appointment (within 4 weeks)
On-going consumption monitoring
Results / Impact
Following the successful installation of the new connection, the business was able to open their new building as initially planned and they removed the risk of lost revenue and additional contractor costs which would have resulted from a delay.
The domestic tenant was also able to separate their contractual requirements from the business and now has control of their own supply.
Overall the goal and objectives were met and the client remains committed to working with SeeMore Energy whilst they grow their business.
